Breaking inter-generational trauma while healing yourself

Being first-gen often means carrying a lot emotionally—worry, guilt, shame, and pressure. You may be navigating:

  • The tension between honoring your family and honoring yourself

  • Guilt around success or personal growth

  • Feeling like you don’t fully belong in any one culture

  • Ongoing self-doubt or feelings of not being “enough”

  • Feeling misunderstood or alone in your experiences

  • Anxiety or depression tied to constant pressure and responsibility

  • Uncertainty about how to move between cultures, languages, and traditions while staying connected to loved ones

Meet Your Therapist

As a first-generation immigrant, I deeply understand the complexities of cultural identity, the challenges of adaptation, and the impact of intergenerational trauma. My passion lies in supporting first-generation immigrants, helping them heal from past wounds while cultivating a safe, nonjudgmental space for self-exploration and growth. I have worked in the hospital and non for profit side of social work. I have worked with individuals who struggle with substance use, LGBTQIA (+), HIV (+), chronically ill, and individuals going through major life changes. I have worked as a social worker for 10 (+) years and every client and experience is a moment to learn. Therapy is never a one size fit all model. I believe using CBT, DBT, MI, trauma focused care together can help maximize the therapeutic experience.
